LMD Accounting & Tax Services, Inc. was founded in 1981 by Louis C. Scourtas under the name Louis Scourtas & Associates. From its beginnings in downtown Clearwater, Florida, the firm grew steadily as Louis earned a reputation for providing knowledgeable, dependable, and personalized service to his clients.

Louis’ daughter Michelle joined the firm in January 2000. While learning the business and working alongside her father, she earned both associate and bachelor’s degrees in accounting. Michelle continues to complete professional education courses to remain current with evolving accounting standards and industry practices.

In 2003, Louis’ daughter Deanna joined the family business. She also earned associate and bachelor’s degrees in accounting while gaining hands-on experience at the firm. Deanna has completed extensive tax-focused education to strengthen her knowledge of current and prior tax laws and their application to each client’s unique circumstances.

Following Louis’ passing in April 2021, Michelle and Deanna proudly continued the business their father built. Today, they remain committed to carrying on his legacy of integrity, professionalism, and exceptional client service.
